11-year-old, Gray Leadbetter, from Morganton, NC, has joined Verde Speed Resources, a National Champion producing kart team, and will move up to Junior to race in IAME X30 Jr category (ages 12-15) for the remainder of the 2016 racing season. She will have her first race on the Verde Speed Resources prepped kart this Saturday, October 22nd, at the GoPro Motorplex, in Mooresvilles, North Carolina.
Leadbetter has already demonstrated success in the Cadet Kart including several podiums at the club level against some of the best cadet drivers in the nation in the GoPro Motorplex Challenge, along with a main event win and overall runner-up position at a Gear Up FI National race, as well as a 2nd place overall at the USPKS Summer Nationals after leading most of the laps. She now joins the Verde Speed Resources team, Mooresville, NC, led by karting veteran Tiffin Willareth, to continue to develop her as a champion racer. Verde Speed Resources has many championships to their credit with racers like Lance Fenderson and Joel Jens. Willareth will tune Leadbetter’s kart and provide valuable racing insight. He will coach along with Gray’s current driving coach Dusty Davis, a multi-time national karting champion, Legend Car Champion and former NASCAR Truck series driver.
