Gray Leadbetter Kicks Off 2024 Championship Off-Road Season at Dirt City This Weekend

May 16, 2024

Off-road champion Gray Leadbetter makes her return to the Pro SXS class of Championship Off-Road for the 2024 season starting at this weekend’s Mayhem at the Motorplex at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, WI. The first of seven events in the new campaign will see Leadbetter debut the #28 Partzilla Can-Am, an all-new car built by defending class champion Kyle Chaney, for her new Gray Leadbetter Racing team.

For 2024, Leadbetter and her boyfriend, Nitro Circus FMX star Banksy, have launched Gray Leadbetter Racing to get back to side-by-side racing. Three years ago, she finished ninth in Pro SXS points, while she completed the Nitrocross SXS season in March with back-to-back podiums in Las Vegas to secure another third place points finish. The new COR program complements a busy season of racing for Leadbetter that also includes racing with Jimmie Johnson’s Legacy Motor Club squad in Extreme E and a planned return to Nitrocross.

“I can’t wait to get the new Champ Off-Road season started in Dirt City!” said Leadbetter. “Banksy and I have had a ton of help in getting our own team started, and we can’t thank everybody enough for the support. It’s awesome to have Partzilla back with us to kick off the 2024 season and to have so many other great new partners come on. We’re ready to get started and make our presence known!”

After becoming the first woman to win a COR title in the Pro Spec class in 2022, Leadbetter returned to the division last year and finished third in points. She scored nine podiums in 13 total races, including the non-points Pro Spec World Championship race at Crandon, and finished a run that saw her finish on the podium of every Pro Spec race across a full calendar year. Over her two years in the division, she scored six victories and led the class in total podiums with 19 in that time.

This weekend’s Mayhem at the Motorplex marks the first time that Dirt City will host multiple races in a COR season. On Friday, Leadbetter’s practice kicks off at 12:10PM local time before qualifying runs at 3:10PM. Races will take place at 5:45PM on Saturday and 4:45PM on Sunday. Tickets are still available, while live streaming will be available on FloRacing.
