Meet Gray Leadbetter at the Tulsa Shootout with On Track School!

December 31, 2024

Professional racer Gray Leadbetter will be ringing in the new year in Tulsa, returning to the SageNet Center for the 2025 Tulsa Shootout. Leadbetter will be appearing on behalf of longtime partner On Track School, a private, accredited online K-12 school whose educational programs cater to aspiring young racers looking to balance learning with professional pursuits.

“I’m really excited to get back to the Tulsa Shootout this year in support of On Track School,” said Leadbetter. “Finishing my education through On Track ensured that I could stay on pace, both academically and behind the wheel. I know that so many other young drivers struggle with the same challenges as they chase their own racing dreams, and I look forward to sharing my journey with them and recruiting the next class of On Track graduates. It’ll also be great to catch up with some of the racers and fans who have supported me since the very beginning of my career!”

While she isn’t planning to be in a car this time around, Leadbetter is no stranger to running up front in Tulsa. Going up against hundreds of star racers from across the country, she advanced as far as the B Main in the winged micro sprint in the 2021 Tulsa Shootout thanks to a strong week of heat races. On the wingless side, Leadbetter is also a veteran of multiple Chili Bowls, the premier dirt midget event that follows the Tulsa Shootout in early January.

Long before remote learning was commonplace, On Track School was catering to the educational needs of aspiring young professionals, like Gray. Unlike the in-person attendance requirements of traditional brick-and-mortar schools, On Track allows students the flexibility to arrange school time around the demanding schedules of their professional pursuits. Learning can take place anywhere, anytime because it’s all online.

For Gray, who graduated in 2022, what had been wasted hours in airport waiting rooms and flying became productive school time. This private, accredited online K-12 school is the perfect academic solution for young athletes and other young professionals who cannot meet the rigid demands of traditional schools.
